Hello,
I am sitting at Chris’ house on Long Island, it is next to the beach.
The water is nearly roaring, I’m guessing that’s why they call it the Long Island Sound.
During the last week, we have very quickly wrapped up camp air, our little blip in time where we made the space to “live appropriately” in our perspectives.
When I was speaking to Fi and Miqdaad, I understood that by making such a specific everyday diet plan at camp, that people could participate in but did not need to - we took some of the basic pillars of being well and made them constants for life there, and therefore a canvas for contemplating questions like this:
how do I want to spend time so my mind, body, and soul feel well?
how do I want to contribute to society so that the impact lasts beyond this lifetime?
Here is a paper reflection along with a diet plan for a conducive environment:
add daily meditation at the same time each day, being sober during every session, and doing your own dishes right away.
I didn’t even realize when living in Woodstock for nearly 5 months, but having even spent 8 hours in NYC yesterday - helped me remember how rare it is in an urban setting - to have a community and schedule (diet plan) that is conducive to these values and rituals of care.
It’s like when my basic nutrition, meditation, exercise, and connection to the divine is taken care of - my only job is to be creative - I think we made a true residency, and tested our understanding that if you have a cohesive environment for living, the creativity should flourish.
I would like to do this again, in newer buildings somewhere by the beach and then possibly somewhere with skiing, same people though, the people were fire.
See ya later, Camp Air.
